# Framehood in Claude Code

The **Framehood plugin** brings Framehood into **Claude Code** — the terminal
CLI, the Claude desktop app's **Code**, and the IDE extensions. It bundles the
MCP connection, a `/framehood:create` command, and skills, so Claude can generate
media out of the box.

## Install

Run these two commands in Claude Code — the first adds the marketplace, the
second installs the plugin:

```
/plugin marketplace add Framehood/framehood-plugin
/plugin install framehood@framehood
```

You'll need a [Framehood account](https://framehood.ai).

## Authorize

After installing, connect and sign in to the MCP server — otherwise the tools
stay locked:

1. Run **`/mcp`**.
2. Select **framehood** in the list.
3. Choose **Authenticate** and complete the sign-in in the browser tab that
   opens.

That's it — no API key to paste. The token is scoped to `mcp.framehood.ai`.

## What it adds

- **MCP server** `framehood` → `https://mcp.framehood.ai/mcp`. Claude Code runs
  the OAuth sign-in on connect.
- **`/framehood:create`** — a command for one-line requests:

  ```
  /framehood:create a cinematic portrait of a lighthouse keeper as keeper.jpg
  ```

  Plugin commands are **namespaced by the plugin**, so it's `/framehood:create`,
  not `/create` — type `/framehood` to find it in the slash-command menu.

- **`framehood` skill** — teaches Claude the `image`, `video`, `audio`, `qa` and
  `files` tools, uploading local files, the job→poll workflow, choosing a model,
  prompt improvement, and credits, so natural requests ("make a 5-second clip of
  waves at sunset") route correctly.
- **`video-montage` skill** — assembling finished videos from parts (reels, ads,
  mini-dramas, mini-docs), with built-in cinematography and editing know-how.

## Use it naturally

Once installed and authorized you don't need the command — just ask:

> Make me a hero image of a neon-lit alley, 16:9, and upscale it.

Claude picks `image(create)` then `image(upscale)`, polls each job, and returns
the URLs.

## Troubleshooting

**The tools don't show up.**
The MCP server isn't connected. Run `/mcp`, check **framehood** is listed and
shows **connected**, and authenticate it if it doesn't.

**The `/framehood:create` command doesn't appear.**
Plugin commands are namespaced — it's `/framehood:create`, not `/create`. Type
`/framehood` to find it. If it's still missing right after installing, run
`/reload-plugins` and check `/plugin` shows **framehood** enabled. (You rarely
need the command anyway — just ask in plain language.)

**"Not authenticated", a 401, or a sign-in loop.**
The OAuth session expired or was never completed. Run `/mcp` → **framehood** →
**Authenticate**, and finish the browser sign-in fully before returning.

**`/plugin install` says the plugin or marketplace isn't found.**
Add the marketplace first, then install — in this order:
`/plugin marketplace add Framehood/framehood-plugin`, then
`/plugin install framehood@framehood`. Check the repo name is exact.

**The sign-in tab never opens.**
Your browser blocked the pop-up. Allow pop-ups and run `/mcp` → **Authenticate**
again.

**"Insufficient credits" or a job is refused.**
You're out of credits. Check your balance and plan in the
[Console](https://framehood.ai/app) — see [Credits & plans](/guide/billing).

**A video or training job looks stuck.**
Long jobs run for minutes and Claude polls them — just ask "check the status".
An unknown job id returns *no such job* rather than a fake status.

**Claude forgets your preferences between sessions.**
Teach it once and ask it to remember; make sure **memory** and **search across
chats** are enabled in Claude's settings.

**Newer models or skills aren't available.**
Framehood ships updates often. Update the plugin
(`/plugin` → **framehood** → update, or re-run `/plugin install framehood@framehood`)
and reconnect with `/mcp`.
